One of the amazing joys of having a child is watching them explore and learn and discover everything that the world around them has to offer. One Saturday evening we headed toward our favorite (deer hunting) spot on the Arkansas (pronounced ar-Kansas, when in Kansas) river. With an abundance of trees and sand and many, many rocks, the new discoveries for my daughter were endless!
I took my camera along to capture some of those new and exciting moments, but as technology often does, it failed me. It locked up several times (probably from being dropped too often... oops!) and eventually the battery died. However, I got a couple of photos that just make my heart skip a beat.. because despite the day to day monotony sometimes, I am so very blessed...

My daughter is long out of college now, but these shots remind me so of her those years ago. The curiosity, the complete faith in her security as we explored, and all the lovely experiences over the years. You hit it, and well. Life, is good! Thanks, for this post. Jack

Exactly... I love the discovery, the joy of re-seeing everything through my children's eyes.
So sweet! And love what you did with the photos.
Your day for exploration did bring some very nice pictures and memories...
aawwwwww....that's all I can say, just plain... aawwwww. You really are blessed.
Getting to re-discover things, and look at them once again through a child's eyes, is one of the great moments in life.
I just wish I could lock those moments up in a jar, and keep them forever!
Cute pics.
Wow! Yeah the cheeks! Its just amazing when kids start to explore. Did you know that there's a very nice hunting club in Colorado where you can bring your family with you? Have you tried to visit Colorado's Best Hunt Club? This is a place where husbands can hunt and enjoy the most while letting your kids and members of the family enjoy the surroundings and do other activities. Perfect for a Family Vacation!
