Gobble, Gobble... Spring Turkey Hunting in Kansas

It's that time of year... the Toms are strutting their stuff and gobbles are being heard all over the countryside. It's been an absolute gorgeous spring in Kansas! Everything is green, most of the spring flowers bloomed early and the crops are ahead of schedule!! Spring turkey season actually opened up on April 1st, but will run for two whole months. I've only had the chance to get out once (so far!) and my gobbler hung up about 100 yds away... actually, I think he had more action there anyway.. can't say I blame the guy!!

Anyway... be sure to also check out the latest post for the KDWPT blog, also about Spring Turkey Hunting!!

Hope you get out a couple more times before end of season! Ours opens tomorrow and runs for a month. I have my fingers crossed that some big boys strut out in front of me!

Hope you get to go after those toms again. Nothing relaxes the soul like a trip to the outdoors. You have time left. Good luck.

I am craving for roasted turkey. It's been a long time since thanksgiving. Hunting turkeys adds to the excitement. Got to grab my best Hiking Backpack and go hunting.
